Q1: How does this remote work? Does it need line-of-sight to my devices?
A: This device has two parts:
WiFi Connectivity: It connects to your home's 2.4GHz WiFi network, allowing you to control it via your smartphone app from anywhere in the world.
Infrared (IR) Blaster: It sends IR signals (like a traditional remote) to control your appliances (TV, AC, etc.). The IR signal does require a clear path to the device's IR receiver, but thanks to its 360° and strong signal, it can often bounce off walls. For best results, place it openly.
Q2: My appliance's brand is not in the app's list. Can I still use this remote?
A: Yes! This is one of the key features. You can use the "DIY Learning" function. Simply point your original physical remote at this device, and it will learn the IR code for each button, allowing you to add control for virtually any IR device.
Q3: Do I need to pay a monthly subscription fee to use the remote features?
A: No. There are no monthly fees. Once purchased, all functions (remote control, scheduling, voice control) are free for lifetime use.
Q4: Can I turn on my air conditioner when I'm not at home?
A: Absolutely! This is a primary use case. As long as the device is plugged in (powered) and connected to your home WiFi, and your air conditioner is plugged in and was left in “ON” mode, you can use the app from anywhere to send the “power on” command.
Q5: Is it compatible with both Alexa and Google Home?
A: Yes. After setting up the device in its companion app (e.g., Tuya Smart), you can link that app to your Amazon Alexa or Google Home ecosystem. Then you can use voice commands like “Alexa, turn on the living room TV” or “Hey Google, set the AC to 25 degrees.”
Q6: How many devices can it control, and can multiple people use it?
A: It can store codes for and control an unlimited number of devices in the app (TV, AC, lights, etc., one by one). Furthermore, it supports Device Sharing, allowing you to share control with your family members' smartphones so everyone can control the home appliances.
